Don’t you wish you had more control of your day? Often times my days feel more reactive than proactive. However, when your day depends so much on whether your employees show up, your customers spill drinks and your equipment decides to work… it is hard not to live reactionary. What if you could be proactively reactionary? Mobile alerts might just be the answer…
As single-store owners, we have many, many roles we play. What if we could create a personal assistant who proactively reminded us of all the tasks that need to be done… whenever they need to be done.
Since I purchased my Android phone, I have been able to ask Google many questions. However, did you know you can ask Google to remind you of things which need to be done. Introducing Google Now.
Google Now makes it really easy to take a note RIGHT from my phone or enter a reminder right into google search. I can tell google search to ‘Remind me to Deep Clean the Freezer every 3 months’. The reminder will come up as a mobile alert on my phone, every three months and I can add the task to a worker’s list. You can do this by simply using ‘Okay Google’ on your phone or typing ‘Remind Me…’ before the instruction in the Google Search.
You can learn more about setting up reminders here.
Want to schedule something with a little more detail? Maybe the instructions for the task are hard to remember? Consider adding a recurring calendar event, attaching the instructions and adding an email reminder. Then you can forward the email with the instructions to a worker’s email address when finished.
